Good Doughnuts, Colorful Bookmarks, Fun!

breakfast1On Saturday, February 6th, Take Your Child to the Library Day, kids and adults enjoyed a breakfast of donuts, juice and coffee.  While the adults browsed or conversed, the kids also made some neat bookmarks.  We all had fun and thank the generous patron who donated the food!

samara2On Thursday, July 23rd, Lori Ogden conducted a cake decorating workshop for the Valatiepantojas with cakes final Free Library at St. Luke’s Fellowship Hall.  At the end of the hour, the kids had created some beautifully decorated cakes.  Thank you to Lori,  and St.Luke’s for the use of the Hall.

In July we also welcomed Erica from the Children’s Museum at Saratoga who presented a halobuilding2program, “City by Design.”  The kids designed and constructed buildings out of recyclables and then placed these buildings into a “city.”  At this point, there was much discussion and planning about the best locations for the various buildings.  Kids left this family program with an appreciation for city engineering.  Thank you to Erica, Museum Educator, for a fun and informative Wednesday evening.
